I was never a huge Franz Ferdinand fan but this was a good gig nonetheless. They were at the height of their popularity in 2005 and I went along with fellow music fans, Pat and Alan. Two people who are at opposite ends of the scale when it comes to watching gigs. Alan stays rooted to the spot unless forced to move. Pat would tap his feet at an ice cream van passing by. Me? I’m somewhere in the middle. If the music calls for it I will mosh like the best of them. Tonight the biggest memory is of the whole arena jumping up and down to Take Me Out. Yes, even Alan. Class.

Thinking about it the biggest memory of this gig is going into the newsagent the next day and the very beautiful girl, who was serving me, ask if I was at the gig as she thought she saw me. I suddenly became very flustered and went bright red and said I was. Eventually recovering myself and managing to stop my voice wavering too much I somehow replied that Take Me Out was good. All she heard was "take me out" and then she went bright red. I went bright red again. I got my change and left...quickly.

I never went back to that newsagent.
