#49 Ocean Colour Scene @ Manchester Apollo (October 20th 1996)

Ocean Colour Scene @ Manchester Apollo October 20th 1996

Support: The Real People

One of the best bands to come out of the 'Brit Pop' scene was undoubtedly Ocean Colour Scene. They played a '60s style rock that was great then and still stands the test of time now as I write this more than a decade later. Touring the fantastic Moseley Shoals album they were backed up by fellow indie band, The Real People.

At the time Ocean Colour Scene could do no wrong, in fact there was a generation of youngsters loving everything this period had to offer. Not just from OCS but from every indie, guitar band around. This was a great gig with a crowd that was behind them 100%.

The encore included a great version of the Beatles track, Day Tripper, with the support band joining them onstage.

Fabulous stuff.
