#107 Queen And Paul Rodgers @ Manchester MEN Arena (May 4th 2005)

Queen And Paul Rodgers @ Manchester Men Arena May 4th 2005

Support: N/A / Encore introduced by Peter Kay and Paddy McGuinness

Second night seeing Queen and Paul Rodgers and what a great show. Felt it was even better than the previous show. First attempt from them playing Under Pressure together as well which was great.

The two best things from the show for me were:

- Love, love, love Fat Bottomed Girls. The guitar in that song is vastly underrated

- Comedians Peter Kay and Paddy McGuinness coming on to introduce the encores which was a fantastic surprise in their home town. At the time Peter had a number 1 single with Tony Christie (well ok Peter didn't actually sing on it but if you know the song Amarillo then you know what I mean) and made a joke that after 7 weeks at the top the single had a chance to overtake Bohemian Rhapsody‘s 9 weeks....it didn't though...

First time at the Manchester Arena and was impressed by the sheer size of it (apparently it can hold up to 23,000 people). Very, very hot in there though.

Great gig and a great night out after in Manchester.
